We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, Toronto is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We recognize the enduring presence and contributions of Indigenous peoples to this land, past, present, and future. As members of the Women in Law Association, we commit to honouring and respecting the histories, cultures, and sovereignties of Indigenous peoples. We acknowledge the ongoing struggle for justice and reconciliation, and we strive to be allies in the pursuit of equity and inclusivity for all.
