Our Vision

Our vision is to create a dynamic and inclusive community where aspiring women lawyers are empowered to reach their full potential. We strive to bridge the gap between ambition and achievement by offering comprehensive resources, mentorship, and opportunities that foster professional growth and personal development. Through a supportive network, we aim to inspire and equip our members with the skills, confidence, and leadership qualities necessary to excel in the legal field. By nurturing advocacy and excellence, we envision a future where our members become influential leaders and trailblazers, driving positive change and advancing the impact of women in law.

Our Values

At the Women in Law Association (WILA), our values are the foundation of our mission and work. We are rooted in principles of equity, empowerment, and community. We believe in fostering inclusive environments where women from all backgrounds feel seen, supported, and inspired to lead. Our commitment to diversity means actively amplifying voices that have been historically marginalized within the legal field, and creating space for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and change.

We are passionate about challenging systemic barriers and promoting access, advocacy, and representation in law. Through educational programming, mentorship, and community outreach, WILA supports members in their personal and professional growth. We envision a legal landscape shaped by compassion, justice, and shared purpose, where all women in law can thrive, lead, and make a lasting impact.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, Toronto is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We recognize the enduring presence and contributions of Indigenous peoples to this land, past, present, and future. As members of the Women in Law Association, we commit to honouring and respecting the histories, cultures, and sovereignties of Indigenous peoples. We acknowledge the ongoing struggle for justice and reconciliation, and we strive to be allies in the pursuit of equity and inclusivity for all.
